Dear Friends and Partners,
We are thankful for this exciting time of transition and growth as Lee and I transition to Jacob’s Hope.
We are fully in itineration mode as we work to raise our monthly budget so that we can move to Springfield, Missouri, and dive deep into the new assignment God has called us to.
Next month I will be headed to Ethiopia with Brent and Bonnie Johnson, the Directors of Jacob’s Hope. While there, I will have the opportunity to see firsthand the awesome work Jacob’s Hope is doing in the Jewish communities there.
I will also have the opportunity to speak at a Bible college chapel while there; I covet your prayers for effective and fruitful ministry.
This is the first of many field assignments. I am thankful to the Lord for the open door. And I thank the Lord for you – for your prayers and financial support, which are helping to make this possible.
TESTIFYING OF GOD’S GOODNESS: PROTECTED FROM HACKERS
Since we announced our transition to Jacob’s Hope, Lee and I have experienced and been protected from two hacking attempts. We want to take a moment to testify of God’s goodness.
Last month, we received a call from our bank that hackers were attempting to gain access to our account. We were thankful for the heads-up and spent approximately 30 minutes on the phone with them to resolve the issue.
Little did we know, the call was from a hacker posing as a representative of our bank. Once we suspected that something was awry, we hung up and called the bank directly. They were able to freeze the account and open a new one just in time. We are so thankful for the Lord’s protection.
About two weeks later, I received a notification that two transactions had been approved through Lifting up Zion’s PayPal account. One of the transactions alone would have nearly wiped out the account balance.
I quickly appealed the charges through PayPal. The appeal was immediately denied. I drove to the bank, and the banker was able to freeze the account just before the transactions appeared as pending. PayPal later honored the appeal, but only after the transactions were denied by the bank.
We thank the Lord for His faithfulness.
