For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them.  For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.
Romans 15:27 ESV

In the Bible, we read:

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV

We are encouraged to give as we have purposed in our hearts.  It is clear the Lord does not want us to give reluctantly or under compulsion.

Rather, He wants us to give cheerfully.

We see that the churches of Macedonia and Achaia participated in this kind of giving.  In Romans 15, the Bible says that it pleased them to make a financial contribution to the poor saints in Jerusalem.

This kind of giving comes with a blessing.

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.
2 Corinthians 9:11 ESV

What a blessing that those who give cheerfully, as they have purposed in their hearts will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way.  And what a blessing that the gift not only supplies the needs of the saints…but also overflows in many thanksgivings to God!

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV)
